She Doesn T Care

I left them sitting under the tree and made my way to my next class. I was hesitant, each movement I made was being scrutinised by people. Lola had informed me with a sad smile that she knew no one in my next class, I was not affected by the thought of being seated alone, infact I quite looked forward to it after the day I was having.

Lola and Tyler decided that we would meet in the evening at the McDonald's not far from here and discuss the further details on the upcoming plan.

Don't get me wrong, it hurts getting rejected. I am by no means made of steel nor is my wolf. Lyra hadn't been talking to me much, not that I had given her time. It's hard on the wolf to get rejected, much more than the human counterpart. Lyra claims she was connected to Sylvester's wolf- Demon. Honestly, whose wolf can be named Demon? It screams arrogance.

Sylvester had rejected me, his human side had, whereas his wolf was another story.

That was the problem, we -humans- are the ones to do stupid things and make our helpless wolves pay for our impulsive decisions, I wanted nothing more than to accept his rejection but I also wanted revenge. It was cruel for me to put my wolf through it all but there were some things I had to do. Some wrongs I felt I needed to set right.

Accepting rejection isn't any better, I would feel my heart tearing apart but it was easier than resisting his rejection.
I could feel his rejection in every word he said, every move he made.

I didn't want to let him walk over me, so what if he's an Alpha? If we were paired together that meant I was supposed to be the Luna, his equal. My defiance while forced was not disrespectful in the werewolf hierarchy.
It's not easy. Sometimes when he raised his voice my wolf whimpered but I could take that much.

I just wanted him to suffer, how could someone be so cruel for taking something so precious from anyone?

A mate for a werewolf is scared , the ultimate goal. One dies for their mate, lives for their mate, dreams of a life with their mate. How could he throw that away? It seemed impossible to me.

Maybe we aren't good enough. Lyra whispered.
Don't let him get to you, he's just a jerk. I reassured my wolf.

Walking into a class full of people I didn't know, wasn't a party. I was met with numerous looks from people.

At that point in the day, I was rather used to the attention, that being said, I did not enjoy it.

"Can I sit here?" I asked politely to a girl with dorky glasses and her hair tied up in a pony. I assumed she was the safest choice at that point.
" S-sure." She stuttered, stunned to see my hovering presence.

"I'm Delphi." I introduced, sticking my hand towards her.
"Brianna." She replied smiling shyly, taking my hand in a weak shake.

My mind was everywhere but on the lesson the professor ranted on, it flew to the different conversations I could have had. Different ways I could have handled it. A bit more mature. My self inflecting thoughts came to an end when the bell rang.
I gave a small smile to Brianna and waved goodbye and left for my next class.

I was a bit disappointed as most of my classes were later in the day and I treasured the sleep I got late afternoon. Glaring at the white sheet of paper, I walked to my next class.

Lola told me that she knew a girl in the class, Perrie.
Entering the odd shaped classroom I paced around focusing on everyone's faces till my mates scent hit me.

I had assumed he wouldn't be in any of my classes but fate still had a few tricks. Involuntarily, my eyes fixed on the black haired boy who was shamelessly flirting with a girl.

Ignoring the pain striking through my already weak heart I forced my eyes to shift. I maintained a poker face, with it my heart went back to being normal.

I had got some information on how Perrie looked. She was a blue eyed beauty so Lola defined, which was not at all helpful since almost every second person had blue eyes, was beautiful.

I made my way to a girl with a million ear piercings, assuming she would be Lolas companion to the tattoo and piercing shops.

She did fit the description perfectly. Her black hair made her blue eyes pop and her arm was decorated with endless tattoos travelling under the three-fourth sleeve of her black top.

"Hello, I'm a friend of Lolas." I smiled sweetly at her confused glare.

"Oh, hey!" Her expression shifted making her lips curl into a small welcoming smile as she scooted for me to sit beside her.

"I'm Delphi." I was honestly getting tired of repeating my name constantly.

"Perrie." She replied shortly. The session was going on but my attention was divided, listening to a certain testosterone filled male sitting behind me.

I could hear him whispering between the lectures to the girl sitting beside him. My fist balled at how close they were sitting as Perrie shot me concerned looks.

I bolted out of the room as the session ended not letting him get to me.
My classes for the day were over, thankfully. It was the only day I had four classes. The rest of the week consisted of three classes each.

Not wanting to view the printed paper any longer I stuffed it in my bag and walked to the parking lot to see Lola, Tyler, Perrie and two other guys I couldn't recognise. I hadn't come out of the session with Perrie as I had to take a detour to the office asking them for my locker number which they had conveniently forgotten to tell me.

"Hey." Lola called out to me.

"This is Brody and this is Caleb." Brody was hefty with his neck covered with tattoos and his eyebrows pierced. At that point, I had figured it was trend in the group.

His dirty blonde hair went well with his striking grey eyes. Caleb looked like the black sheep of the group. His blonde hair was lazily pushed back and his beautiful blue eyes matched the colour of the navy V-neck shirt. His arms free of tattoos and his face having only skin. Apart from those, I could feel the power in him. The power my wolf recognised well, he was an Alpha.

"She's Delphi, guys." A groan left my lips involuntarily as Tyler spoke.

"I'm so tired of my name." I muttered.

"Lets get to McDonald's, then?" Perrie urged, very subtly tugging members of the group.
I peered at Lola questioningly.

"Oh, I told them about your situation. I hope you don't mind, you can trust them." Lola replied nervously suddenly realising the uncomfortable situation she had helped create.
"It's alright. Not a secret anyway." I shrugged not wanting Lola to worry. But it was uncomfortable. I felt intruded upon.

"Could I ride with you?" Caleb asked looking at me.
"Sure." I murmured.

"So, you're the Alpha? " I asked looking at him slightly.
"Yes, I'm the Alpha of Half Blood Pack," He paused remembering something. "but I'm nothing like your so-called mate." He spat in disgust. It must've been odd for two Alphas to share common ground, even if it were for a few hours.

"I know you aren't. Relax." I replied chuckling. He seemed like a nice person. I wish he was my mate instead, calm and reliable. Lyra, of course, highly disagreed with this thought.

We reached McDonald's and I saw Perrie wrapped around Brody in a comforting stance. While Lola was holding hands with another guy and Tyler had a petite blonde beside him. Ignoring the pain that shot up my heart I looked at Caleb.

"Oh, they are their mates. They don't go to college with us," He explained. "Lola's mate is Hunter. Tyler's is Tiffany and, Brody and Perrie are mates." I pushed aside the discomfort I felt, the group had grown considerably larger and it was another pack. I was always a four friends sort of girl and any more felt suffocating.

"Right, you haven't had the opportunity to find your mate?" I asked looking at him as his eyes saddened. It was a good distraction, I did not enjoy his sadness but it offered my nerves a chance to calm down.

"No, I haven't."

The bite in his words made me want to kick myself. Before I could apologise to redeem myself, we had reached the group.
Caleb went ahead and greeted the guys.

We all got seated and finished our introductions.
"So, let's start." Tyler said rubbing his hands together in anticipation.

"We have set up some rules for you Del," Lola started, "you are not to associate with Mr a-hole. Rule number two- definitely five feet apart at all times. Thirdly, the rules are to be followed until we say otherwise."

While said with good intentions I did not appreciate her authoritative voice. I was rethinking the whole idea of sharing.

"I accept the rules and regulations."
