She Doesn T Care

Delphi's POV

To say I didn't like Merlyn was an understatement. She was the kinds who thought no end of herself and the idea of being stuck with her was awfully terrifying. I didn't want to be judgemental but she was making it nearly impossible.

"So, full scholarship?" She raised her eyebrow at me shooting yet another question at me. Her gaze was trying to read under my guards and it made me uncomfortable. She eyed me as if I was a lab rat.
"Yeah, it's wonderful what plenty of passion and determination can bring you." I continued to squirm under her burning gaze.

"Which pack do you belong to?" Her inquiries didn't seen to have an end.
"Moon shadow." I replied instantly, wanting for the discussion to stop immediately.

"Wait, that's the same pack I'm in. How come I've never seen you before?" She questioned as she started walking beckoning me to follow her lead.

"I was never the social kinds." I muttered as her face formed a scowl which she tried to cover up. It was true, I was so focused on studying that I never really went out as such, much to my mothers disappointment. Besides studying, I held no interest in the likes of the crude society.

"Oh, that's weird. Anyhow, your classrooms are not that far away from each other. This is your first class, the next is two hours later." She pointed out in a sweet voice.

"Thank you for guiding me, I'll figure it out from here." I said politely, wanting to get rid of her.

"You're welcome." She replied, smiling and walked away.
My feelings for her were still mixed. I didn't like her but I knew it was wrong to judge so early.
It seemed childish to put a label on her and make a space in my mind for her.
Letting out a sigh, I pushed the doors of the classroom open, revealing a class filled with students who turned their heads towards me as the door creaked.

"And who must you be?" This is the problem, I had missed 1 month of the session so, no one knew me and I was the weird one because who misses classes in their first semester?

"I'm Delphi. I'm the new student." I replied with confidence looking at the professor.
"Well, Delphi come on in and introduce yourself." He motioned for me to walk to the centre of the stage.

I slowly glanced at the class and checked if there were any humans- there weren't, as expected. It is an all werewolf college but you don't want to take chances.
Though werewolves and humans coexist peacefully, the humans aren't allowed to know about our existence as it could make them feel threatened.

"I'm Delphi Westworld and I belong to the Moon shadow pack." I finished as the class listened quietly, taking in the information.

"Welcome to my class, Miss Westworld. I'm Mr Jeffrey." He smiled genuinely at me. "Take a seat near Mr. Turner." He instructed and turned towards the board as I awkwardly searched the class of thirty students for the one he was referring to.

A hand raised which belonged to a boy with black shaggy hair and grey eyes. I assumed he was the person Mr Jeffrey was referring to as a seat beside him was empty.

I sat down on my seat and give him a small smile taking out my books and pen.
He was cute, but that was nothing unusual. Werewolves are generally good looking.

"I'm Jason," he introduced expecting me to connect to his identity but when he saw my confused expression he continued "I'm your Beta."

"Oh, I'm sorry. I don't go out much." It was ironic how many times I have to repeat that. And it was embarrassing that I was so unaware of my own pack. Hell, I didn't even know the Alpha and Luna. All I recalled was that the new Alpha turned twenty just a couple of months back and he was still in the transition period of becoming a complete Alpha.

"I realised." Before I could reply Mr. Jeffrey started the lesson. He was talking about werewolf history which I had taken an interest in.

As the bell rang, I packed my bag and just as I was about to leave, a voice spoke behind me.

"You really are interested in becoming a doctor." Jason commented.
"Yes, my dad's the pack doctor." I replied smiling proudly.

"Oh, you mean Mr Westworld is your father?" He questioned.
"No, no. We just magically happen to have the same  surname and look remarkably alike." I replied sarcastically.

"Yeah, fine. Be sarcastic." He mumbled pouting.
"Sorry, I'm usually like this."

"You know, most girls would have said something like 'you know, I'm usually not like this'." He said mimicking the voice of a bimbo.

"So, I guess it's safe to say I'm not 'most girls'." I imitated this impersonation, letting out a laugh. I always found the 'Most girls' cliché rather offensive.
"Perfectly." He said, amusement in his eyes.

"Since, you're still here making meaningless conversation with me, I can assume you have no mate as yet." I don't know how he came to that conclusion but I nodded nonetheless.
"Pretty much." I said in reply, shrugging.

"What's your next class?" He questioned as he started walking ahead of me.
"Got to check." I mumbled pulling out my schedule from my bag. Because of the whole Merlyn odreal I hadn't gotten a chance to view my schedule.
"You don't remember your schedule?" Jason frowned. I gave him a weird look, I had literally just received it but then I remembered I was a month late to the cycle.

"No, I got stuck with the secretary. She's quite interactive." I replied, diplomatically.
"Oh. Merlyn. She's Sylv's buddy." Jason said.

"Uh, Sylv?" My face supported a confused look.
"Oh my god," Jason squeaked like girl. "Sylvester. You don't even know your Alpha."

I shivered at the mention of the name. Weird.

"Told you, I'm not a very social person." I looked at him apologetically. I knew the Alpha family hailed from the Kingsley clan but that was about it.

My next class were zoology practicals and as Merlyn had said, in two hours, so I didn't have to stay here any longer. Most people would've preferred staying inside college campus but I liked staying at home.

I drove home, it was empty as usual, mom was out and so was dad. My elder brother, Scott, was not in town. Him and his friends had gone for a road trip.
Two hours past fairly quickly as I busied myself watching t.v and walking around the empty house.

I didn't feel like cooking, I thought I'd pick something in the cafeteria. I'd gotten my cooking skills from mom, thankfully, because my father didn't know anything about changing raw food into something edible.

Reaching the cafeteria I stood in my line to take my share of the delicious lunch.

That's when I smelt the most incredible scent. And it wasn't the food. This was a woodsy masculine scent with a chocolate tinge. I tried putting a face on this heavenly smell. My wolf screaming in my head.
My eyes connected with grey ones.

Mate. Mate. My wolf howled in my head.

My mate was handsome, to say the least. It looked as if he was painted, so perfect.

That's what I thought till I saw Merlyn clinging to his side and my face twisted in a scowl.
He said something to her and made his way towards me.

I looked straight at the Greek God walking towards me. I was standing near a bolder so my back hit the wall which made him smirk and me; frown. Why was he smirking? Little did I know my confusion was soon to be intensified.

"What's your name, mate?" He asked not caring if everyone heard him, which they did and the whole cafeteria fell silent.

"Delphi Lillian Westworld." I replied making my voice sound strong not letting his presence bother me. I didn't like the way he assumed he could dominate me in such a manner.

"Well, then. Let's get this over with," he spoke in a monotonous voice.
"I, Sylvester Samuel Kingsley, Alpha of Moon Shadow reject you, Delphi Lillian Westworld, as my mate and the packs Luna." He spoke the words no werewolf dared to think of.

Yes, he rejected me.

*******
Tada, next chapter is really cool.
