Road To Jannah

"It could be in the palm of your hands but still not written for you."

____

Sometimes all you need is a hand over yours to assure that everything will be alright, whatever has come to pass was by the decree of your lord and sometimes only a look is enough for those feelings to take a turning point. Ahmad glanced to look at the stars in the open sky and to his dismay found none. Just like the happiness, stars have vanished too this week.

"Boo Boo." said Mariam showing up a star with her little finger. It was easier for her to pronounce BOO instead abBOO so she chose the former.

Ahmad sat on the swing with his little daughter who was the only one accompanying him and was the only one who would distract him with sorrowful thoughts. Children can be headache and still be a stress reliever at the same time. He was baby sitting Mariam from a week because Ayesha needed complete rest and also because she made her busy.

Mariam soon slept leaning against his chest and Ahmad? Well! Like daughter like father. He slept while reciting the night adhkar.

Someone stood at the window just to find these two peacefully taking their naps. She walked down the stairs because resting itself made her restless. It is strange that on our busy days, we just want to rest but when we actually are bed ridden and are just ordered to take rest, we get bored and want to go back to our daily hectic routine.

She came down and sat beside her husband and gazed at them while sitting on the swing under the open sky. There was something peaceful about the open sky and would attract the couple. Whenever they were stressed or something, they would sit under the open sky.

"It's 2, why are you awake this late?" came a voice as she was lost in her own thoughts looking up in the sky.

"Umm I just can't sleep." she said and the place fell quiet for sometime.

"Why are you here by the way?" asked ayesha.

"Mariam was awake and wanted to be out, so I brought her here." he said without even once looking at her.

She had tried to talk to him many times but he wasn't willing to. This time she had hurt him deep, so deep that he couldn't gather his courage to even talk about it. He just thought that with time everything will heal and so will their relation but something was lacking and he didn't know what. May be just an apology from either side.

Ahmad stood up to make his way towards the room but Ayesha caught hold his hand from behind and asked him to sit and he sat at once.

"You don't love me?" said Ayesha and Ahmad turned his face towards her.

"What on earth?" said Ahmad and leaned back on the swing adjusting Mariam and looking towards the sky.

"That means you do?"

"I never said that."

"So should I assume that you don't." Ayesha's eyes grew wider.

"I never said that too." Ahmad said with a neutral face still focused towards the sky.

"I am sorry." Ayesha said and Ahmad looked towards her, his eyes softening.

"Do you really?" he said as he looked away as it never bothered him.

"Excuse me? A girl is throwing up her ego and actually saying sorry and you in turn is asking that am I really sorry?" Ayesha said clenching her teeth while Ahmad couldn't control and looked the other side just suppress his lips from smiling at her reaction. Ayesha on the other hand, thought otherwise and no sooner did he turned his face towards the other side, a tear escaped her eyes.

"I am so so sorry Ahmad." said Ayesha as she stood in front of her and Ahmad again looked away suppressing his lips.

"Accha I'll catch my ears." she said and waited for a response and when she got none she proceeded "and I'll do ups and downs while catching my ear."

"Stop." Ahmad turned towards her with a hearty laugh which he had hidden from her for a while.

"I am saying sorry and you are laughing? Seriously?" Ayesha threw her hands in the air and gave him serious looks and he caught her hand and made her to sit beside him in between his laugh.

"Will you stop?" she glared at him.

"Okay okay I am sorry." said Ahmad as he calmed down.

"But why?"

"For everything."

"You don't have to."

"But promise me one thing. Will you?" Asked Ahmad and Ayesha scrunched her eyebrow in confusion.

"What? I ain't packing and then unpacking all the stuffs." said Ayesha while looking at Ahmad from the corner of her eyes.
Ahmad had this bad habit of neither packing nor unpacking his stuffs. Every time he does, he's irritated because of confusion. So the in charge of this work is always Ayesha.

"If anything happens in future where you are afflicted with a trial or anything like that then you'll at least try to calm down and think twice what you say to the other person standing for you. You not only hurt others by it but also hurt yourself. Sometimes when you are hurting a loved one of yours, you are actually hurting a part of yourself. So in all cases I don't want you to end up hurting yourself. That's it."

"Aww."

"Stop this 'aww' business." he said stressing over the 'aww' word while rolling his eyes.

"Awwwwwww." she said and he glared at her.

Little Mariam woke up to find out the two love birds or rather the two cats playing because when the cats play, there's love hidden in their fight. "Aw" spoke Mariam after sitting straight on her father's lap which made the couple giggle.

"Accha did I hurt you too much this time?" she stood looking at him, trying to figure out from his expression.

"Not as much as you are hurting me right now."

"Now?"

"You are murdering my toes." he said pointing out on how she was stepping on his toes without her knowledge.

"Oops."

"Yeah it did hurt, but 'after every difficulty there is ease.' And I wouldn't have seen my girl uttering a sorry with puppy dog eyes. Anyways when are you talking to your best friend?"

"I don't want to talk about it right now." Ayesha said as the color of her face changed to pale, as the blooming flower just went dry, as the cloudy whether just stopped raining. May be Ayesha just needs time to realise that shaytan had evaded her and Hana was innocent from the blame she ascribed her. Ahmad left the topic as it was because talking about it may be ruin many other things and this issue needed some time for realization.

"I've a beautiful hadith to narrate." said Ahmad and Ayesha's face glowed up even brighter than a sun and eyes twinkled even brighter than a star. It was a blessing to have a spouse who would educate himself in the way of Islam and also bring his better half closer towards Allah.

"The great Muslim woman Umm Sulaym bint Milhan, the wife of Abu Talhah al-Ansari. Her son passed away whilst Abu Talhah was travelling, and her attitude was so unique that if Imam Muslim had not reported this story we would have taken it to be a mere myth.
Let us hear her son Anas ibn Malik tell the story of his remarkable mother and her unattitude:
"A son of Abu Talhah by Umm Sulaym died. Umm Sulaym told her family, 'Do not tell Abu Talhah about his son until I tell him about it.' Abu Talhah came home, so she prepared dinner for him, and he ate and drank. Then she beautified herself in a way that she had never done before, and he had sexual intercourse with her. When she saw that he was satisfied, she said,
'O Abu Talhah, do you think that if a people lent something to a household, then asked for it back, do they have the right not to return it?' He said, 'No.' She said, 'Then resign yourself to the death of your son.' Abu Talhah became angry and said, 'You let me indulge myself and then you tell me about my son!' He went to the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) and told him what had happened. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, 'May Allah bless both of you for this night!'
Umm Sulaym expected Abdullah."
Sahih Muslim, 16/11, Kitab fada'il al-Sahabah, bab fada'il Umm Sulaym.

"Subhan Allah! How strong would have been that women." Ayesha said as she blinked back her tears.

"Indeed."

"And among His signs is this, that He created for you mates from among yourselves, that you may dwell in tranquility with them, and He has put love and mercy between your [hearts].." [Qur'an 30:21].

Allah has placed love between married couples to dwell in tranquility with each other. If one is fire, the other is water; similarly if one is angry, the other one is patient. When we talk about perfect couples, it isn't the ones who go along on smooth roads perfectly but the ones who makes the crooked road smooth and go accordingly. That phase is indeed attained with love, compassion and understanding towards each other.

"peep peep." Ahmad horned for the tenth time.

"Coming." Ayesha answered as she looked up at her watch for the hundredth time. Was she expecting someone to arrive?

"Ayesha we'll miss our train." Ahmad shouted on the top of his lung.

"Coming bruh."

"Stop calling me that." He said as she opened the car's door to sit and everyone who came to bid them farewell laughed.

"See the positive side of the word, it also means friend. You are such a pessimist!"

"Excuse me?"

"Should I bring some popcorn." cracked Ahmish as he had Ibrahim on his shoulder.

"Yes" said Ayesha and the kids in unison.

"We'll be late." glared Ahmad as he started the car engine.

"Happy realization." said Abdullah who was sitting on the passengers seat focused on the mobile screen, probably searching for the status of the train. The departed soon after Ayesha's mother kissed on her forehead and told her to take care of everyone specially her own self.

"They are leaving today." said Rida looking up at her sister while she was busy in doing chores and after listening to her words she stopped and thought for a while and then again busied herself.

"Hmm."

"Won't you bid her adieu?" Rida raised an eyebrow after she paused the surah, she was listening to.

"She doesn't need me."

"She does, that was just because she lost her baby."

"Didn't you see what she said?"

"Didn't you see what happened to her?"

"Stop it Rida."

"Appi you won't be able to meet her for so many days, or months or may be years." Ayesha had been shaken so much with this incident that the doctor asked them to migrate for a change in air and to get refreshed for a while. Ahmad decided to transfer back to Kolkata as he was from the same city where he has spend his childhood.

Hana did not speak a word and left the kitchen in dismay. She was not one of those who would break the ties of friendship so easily but shaytan had his own ways to lead a believer towards sin. Hana had called Ayesha millionth time but Ayesha did not answer her call. May be Ayesha wasn't willing to even look at her, Hana thought and so did not take a step forward.

Rida resumed listening to the surah until she saw the message which popped up on the screen.

The new Queen of the group is our OwnerOfTajMahal *claps*.

The answer of the last question is 'six'. Six children died in the life of Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Those are Umme Kulsoom, Ruquaiya, Zainab, Ibrahim, Abdullah and Qasim (may Allah be pleased with them).

"How many angels are appointed to guard the hell fire?"
