Charles' Point Of View

"So, Samara had visions and she told you. Now, I want to know, did you save The Night Guardians because you knew that your mate belonged to that pack?" I question.

"Yes."

"Then why did you lie to Chriselda?" I can't help but ask him.

"I want her to stay away from me. As the Alpha of this pack, I order you Beta Charles and you Gamma Daniel to not mention this conversation to anyone," he says with his authoritative tone and gets inside his study. I'm really angry at him. If he wouldn't have ordered me then I would've rushed to Chriselda and told her everything. I head to his study to talk to him. When I enter the study, I find him looking at his bookcase.

"Don't you think that Chriselda has the right to know that you saved her pack because of her?" I ask him. He ignores me as he takes out some of the books from the bookcase, sits at his desk and starts reading. "Alarick, I've asked you something," I say to him seriously. He still continues to ignore me. His behavior makes me so angry that I slam his book close with so much force that his desk shakes a little. "I'm talking about your mate and you're busy reading a book?" I ask. He doesn't say anything. He just calmly looks at me. When my gaze falls on the title of the book, I'm shocked. "Why are you reading this book?" I ask even though I'm afraid of hearing his answer.

"Because I want to break my bond with Chriselda," he says without any emotions. Suddenly, I hear someone rushing out of the pack house. When I leave the study and enter the living room, I find the front door open. When I look at Daniel, he has a shocked expression on his face.

"Anne came here. She heard everything," he informs me.

Chriselda's Point Of View

After Ciara finishes telling Matt and Darius everything, there's a long silence in the living room. I wait for Matt to ask questions but he doesn't. "Why aren't you asking any questions?" I ask Matt as I break the silence.

"To be honest, I have no questions to ask," he says. The day that I bring Ciara over the pack house to answer questions on my behalf, Matt doesn't have any questions. Isn't it ironic? "You are lucky that Matt doesn't have any questions today," I tell Ciara.

"Can I go home now?" She asks. I can tell that she wants to go home before Matt comes up with a question as she also doesn't like answering his questions. I nod my head and she leaves the pack house.

After a few minutes, I hear violent knocks at the front door. Matt, Darius and I look at each other in confusion. Who could it be at the front door? When Darius opens it, I see Anne standing at the doorstep. And she looks worried. She rushes inside the pack house towards me. "Alarick wants to break his bond with you," she tells me. After hearing those words, my world turns upside down. A heavy silence falls in the living room. I immediately rush out of the pack house. I need to confront Alarick. Matt, Darius and Anne don't try to stop me. They just silently walk behind me.

When I cross the boundary, I walk in the direction of the pack house. When I see it, I rush towards it. I loudly knock on the front door. Daniel opens the door. I enter the pack house. "Where is your Alpha?" I ask him.
